The Simple Godly Gift of Invention
I believe everyone has a “gift” given to them by God. Romans 12:6-8 simply tells us this, “God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out when you have faith that God is speaking through you. If your gift is that of serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, do a good job of teaching. If your gift is to encourage others, do it! If you have money, share it generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.” (Holy Bible ~ New Living Translation Version)
Now please note, this part is merely my opinion and I have no biblical backing for it, but in my humble opinion the creative gift of invention, some how has God written all over it. I mean it has to take a genius mind to come up with all the things we have the privilege of using today. Take for instance the featured item I have for you today. Believe me, the individual that came up with this contraption was a genius. Â

Baggie Rack ~ Hands free Clip Food Storage Baggie Holder
by casualKitchen
One Christmas, years ago, I held this bad boy in my hands. As I recall my response was somewhere along the lines of blank confusion. Not sure exactly what it was or why I needed it, the hubby perked up and offered an explanation and reasoning for the gift. “It’s a bag holder. Now you don’t have to hold the bag with one hand and spoon the leftovers with the other. This holds the bag for you. The bags are always falling over on you, so now you won’t make a mess!” He concluded with a big smile. “Oh, cool, Okay” was about all I could say. Â
So I should stop here and explain that the hubby has this knack of coming up with some unusual gift giving ideas. He has hit a home run with most of them, but there have been some not so hot items, too. However, kudos to him for this one because I cannot fathom how I managed as long as I did without it. He was right, trying to hold the storage bag with one hand and fill it with the other, was tricky, especially with liquid leftovers like soup. There were too many times I could have used another set of hands, especially when I needed to tilt the pot to get the last bit of food. Having to let go of the bag to tilt the pot allowed the bag the freedom of flimsiness resulting in a mess on the counter top.
This ingenious invention became my two extra hands and saved the day, and my counter top.
You know you want one! 🙂
